Research & Development

The first signal to develop sustainable crop nutrition in ZENITH was climate changes and the adverse effects on the food supply in the current world. To induce stress tolerance and plant vigor against biotic and abiotic stresses, a team with valuable experience and knowledge was required to select, test, and introduce the best, beneficial, and efficient plant nutrition for sustainable agriculture worldwide. Data for each experiment were collected separately and analyzed to determine the best responses in different regions in the world from Europe, South America, Asia, Middle east. Based on the meticulous research, we provide farmers reliable products with quality tests in different areas and different plants with the collaboration with other science-based universities in Germany, Turkey, Romania, and Chile.

How does the Research and development team in Zenith design experiments to select and introduce the best products for your agriculture?

The ZENITH Research Group of Molecular Biology of Plants investigates the primary metabolism of Macro and Microelements and the role of amino-terminal protein acetylation in plants. Our Research activities include molecular, genetics, biochemistry, physiology, and biotechnology of model and crop plants to understand how we can enhance the Nutrient Use Efficiency (NUE)?

Plants count on a wide variety of metabolic, physiological, and developmental responses to adapt their growth to variations in mineral nutrient availability. To react to such variations, plants have evolved complex sensing and signaling mechanisms that allow them to monitor the external and internal concentration of each of these nutrients, both in absolute terms and relative to the status of other nutrients.

Project 1.

Study the effects of CALISTA

Role of Silicon on Growth, Relative Water Contents and Uptake of Silicon, Calcium, and Potassium in Appletree

Growth performance, relative water contents (RWC), and mineral nutrition were studied in the apple tree (Arkansas Black) treated with different concentrations of silicon (25, 50, 100, 200, 400, and 800 ppm). Lower administrations of silicon (25–200 ppm) enhanced relative yield, relative water contents, calcium, and potassium contents. A significant (0.1% level) direct relationship between tissue silicon content and applied silicon concentrations were observed. Shoots were significantly richer in silicon content than roots. The results indicate a possible requirement of silicon for higher plants…

Project 2.

Mycorrhizal fungi improved nutrient uptake by symbiosis in plant roots

Excessive land use may have a drastic impact on the overall biodiversity, which may affect the ecosystem function, as shown by several reports. A prominent role of such a symbiotic relationship is to transfer nutrients, such as organic carbon (C), in lipids and sugars. Mycorrhizal colonization is widely believed to stimulate nutrient uptake in plants. It is evident that inoculation of Mycorrhizal can enhance the concentration of various macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients significantly, which leads to increased photosynthate production and hence increased biomass accumulation…
