ZENITH ACIDPKAcidic PK fertiliser for fertigation
One nutrient salt, two benefits: strong acidification with phosphorus and potassium
A strongly acidic, fully soluble phosphorus and potassium fertiliser for calcareous soils and bicarbonate-rich irrigation water.
Acid and nutrients in one product
ZENITH ACIDPK 0-60-20 is a strongly acidic, fully soluble phosphorus and potassium fertiliser developed for calcareous soils and irrigation water with a high bicarbonate content.
The product performs two functions. Its acidic action lowers irrigation-water pH, reduces the risk of precipitation and helps keep irrigation lines clear. At the same time, phosphorus and potassium supply plant nutrients. Nutrients account for 80% of the bag contents.
As a solid crystalline acid, ZENITH ACIDPK offers an alternative to conventional phosphoric acid application and simplifies transport and storage compared with liquid acid.
Its acidity also supports tank mixing with calcium and magnesium, which is not possible with a neutral phosphate source.
Benefits
Performance in figures
Two properties determine practical performance: acidification strength and solubility in cold water.
Compared with phosphoric acid
| Property | H₃PO₄ 59% | ZENITH ACIDPK |
|---|---|---|
| Reduction of carbonate hardness by 1°KH | 58 mg/L | 86 mg/L |
| Nutrient content (at 1 g/L) | 634 mg/L P₂O₅ | 590 mg/L P₂O₅ + 200 mg/L K₂O |
| EC (at 1 g/L) | 0.83 mS/cm | 1.3 mS/cm |
| Form | Liquid acid | Solid crystalline acid |
Phosphoric acid provides greater acidification per gram and slightly more phosphate. ZENITH ACIDPK also supplies potassium; its solid form simplifies handling and avoids the need to store liquid acid.
Guidance for clean irrigation systems
Blocked drippers that can be removed
Dissolve 1 kg of ZENITH ACIDPK in 100 L of water. Soak the drippers overnight, then rinse with clean water the next day. Repeat if any outlets remain blocked.
Blocked systems with limited flow remaining
Dissolve 5 kg of ZENITH ACIDPK per m³ of water and introduce it into the system. Allow at least 15 minutes of contact time in the lines. The quantity required depends on the flow rate.
Example:At a flow rate of 6 m³/h, 1.5 m³ passes through in 15 minutes. Dissolve 5 kg × 1.5 m³ = 7.5 kg, run for 15 minutes, then open the line ends and flush. Repeat if needed. Test compatibility with the crop under local conditions before treatment.
Improving spray-water quality
1 g/L reduces carbonate hardness by 11.6°dH. Adjust the dose to water hardness: use 86 g of ZENITH ACIDPK per 1,000 L of spray solution for each 1°KH.
Calculation example:A 7 m³ spray tank and well water at 8°KH require 7 × 8 × 86 = 4.8 kg of ZENITH ACIDPK. Dissolve in water before adding; do not premix with magnesium sulphate (Epsom salt). Add through the induction hopper.
